Photographer Spotlight: Chris McLennan

This week's photographer spotlight highlights the work of Chris McLennan.

Chris McLennan is an accomplished commercial photographer based out of New Zealand who specializes in travel, wildlife, tourism and adventure photography.
 

It seems like he is a very versatile photographer who has a wide skill set and subject range.

McLennan was recently in the news for capturing an incredible, close-up image of a group of lions (below, top) by attaching his camera to a remote control 4x4 buggy (below, bottom).

Photographer Spotlight: Henry Grossman

This week's photographer spotlight draws attention to the work of Henry Grossman.

 Grossman was able to capture decades worth of history in hundreds of iconic shots.

He is a well known portrait artist who photographed everyone from the Kennedys to the Beatles.

Grossman actually photographed the Beatles extensively between 1964 and 1968. According to his website, "Henry enjoyed unprecedented access and was invited into the Beatles' homes to photograph them informally with their friends and families."

He published two limited edition books that focused solely on his work with the Beatles:

"Kaleidoscope Eyes" which documented one evening of recording the Sergeant Pepper album at the Abbey Road studios" and "Places I Remember" which consisted of more than 1,000 mostly unpublished Beatles pictures. 

"Places I Remember" completely sold out within a few months of its release date.

I recently saw a piece on CBS's "60 Minutes" featuring Henry Grossman. 

In the segment, he speaks in his own words about his experiences and his photographs.

Photographer Spotlight: Gian Paul Lozza

This week's photographer spotlight features the work of Gian Paul Lozza.

Lozza is a Swiss commercial photographer who often pushes himself and the boundaries of photography.

I instantly fell in love with this photo set called "Light Animals."

I love the contrast between the lights, the white animals, and the dark surroundings. 

The light and form is wonderful.

A very clever and unique set of constructed photographs!

This week's photographer spotlight exhibits the work of Petrina Tinslay.

Petrina Tinslay is an Australian freelance photographer with over twenty years of experience.

She is most known for the diversity of her work which spans food, lifestyle, interior, still-life, portraiture and travel for both editorials and advertising.

She has worked on over 45 cookbooks and has been featured in magazines such as The New York Times Magazine, Travel + Leisure, and Martha Stewart Living Food & Wine.

I love the angles, colors, and lighting in her photos.
I find her style to be very unique, and very fresh!

Photographer Spotlight: Florian Ritter

This week's photographer spotlight samples the work of Florian Ritter.

Florian Ritter is a German photographer who studied illustration, film, photography and graphic design while working simultaneously in advertising. 

His portfolio includes commercial work, landscape photography, and portraiture.

 

These are the photographs that speak to me most out of his online work.

I love the ones of livestock and landscape. They're lovely!

Ritter shoots in RAW and then does a lot of post process editing. 

He prides himself in achieving images that not only show what he saw, but also how he felt.
